One of our beloved chefs has beat the big "C" and is ready for wedding season!!

OUR GREAT CHEF CENEN HAS KICKED CANCER AND IS READY TO ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!! Hair is for sissy's! This man has concurred the big C and we are all just so happy for him and his family. We love you Cenen Aparicio!!!!

We recycle or compost 90% of our trash here and were awarded a Green Star.

 The City of Santa Barbara Composting program rep came by yesterday and brought us a sample of the results of our composting. It is used at local schools, wineries and parks instead of going to the land. How cool is that?

 

Honestly composting could not be easier. It just feels good and the whole staff really gets into it. We want to encourage other businesses in composting. We use no disposable individual water bottles, cups, utensils, plates or food pans or trays. The great news from the city is that they will be offering composting to residential soon too.

Channel Islands Marine & Wildlife Institute (CIMWI)

CIMWI's core work is the rescue and rehabilitation of injured, stranded and distressed marine mammals. CIMWI’s fundraiser is on Saturday, April 21^st at Oreana Winery here in the funk zone of Santa Barbara.  "The event will be very similar to last year’s with awesome Pure Joy appetizers, desserts, wine from Oreana, beer from The Brewhouse, raffle items, a silent auction, and Georgetown will be providing live music.  We’ve also extended the event so it will be three hours (7pm-10pm).  People were having too good of a time last year and didn’t want to leave!"  This just in from Ruth Dover, please plan on going.

Shelly Vinson

This weekend our precious Shelly Vinson married Christopher Contreras. It was a beautiful, very emotional and adorable wedding ceremony.  Shelly is here at the Pure Joy offices Monday through Friday to help pull all the ends together for our lucky clients. Her sweet warm way with people is a perfect fit around here and she speaks fluent "bride" - we just all feel so blessed to include her on our team.
